About the Ribeye Chef

I love everything about steak.  I love eating it, I love learning about it, and I love telling people about it.

I been exposed to beef my entire life. Part of my family growing up raised cattle in East Texas, and that is where I was introduced to the breed of cattle called Black Angus. As well as what a “hot stick cattle prod” was. Google it, or better yet youtube it. It packs a punch and when your 13 years old and weigh like 100 lbs. I got to learn first hand what it’s like to raise cattle, go to market, and slaughter beef. I got to drive tractors and bail hay in the Texas heat. I also learned first hand how mean a Black Angus bull can get, and also to never get in between a momma and her calf. Those lessons hurt. I also got a first hand appreciation for the hard work, and the people behind scenes doing all the labor so we can all enjoy this tasty meat. Not an easy life back then, but I have huge respect for what he did each and every day. I’ve even spent many years working in restaurants when I was a kid before going to college and to grad school to pursue my career in marketing. But I’ve always had a passion and I’ll call it a “pull” back to my roots, so that is why I started this site. And of course I named this site after my personal favorite cut, the ribeye steak.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]I wanted to create a fun place where you can learn a little more information on your personal journey and enjoyment of steak. Don’t be surprised if you see me add a few things unrelated to steak…like lobster rolls, the best crab cakes, or other amazing seafoods. Why might you ask? Because I like them and they are damn good.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
